Default 'Engineers Aus 2010 applications/assessments (merged threads)

I have sent my application around 2 1/2 weeks back. I don't know whether it has reached them or not. The postal tracking system doesn't seem to be good enough. However, I will keep checking with postal services.

My questions:
1. When would IEAust respond after receiving my application?
2. When would they charge my card?
3. The process usually takes 16 weeks. Any experiences of getting it earlier?

Please share ur experiences.

you should have sent your docs via a courier. They charge the credit card the next day they receive the docs. It will take 16 weeks to complete the process not earlier.

Mine was charged after 1 day, you have to send them email asking for file number and if they have received your application immediately they respond.
My application was done in 13 weeks despite their annoucement of 16 weeks

Thanks for your valuable inputs.
I haven't yet written them any emails. I hope they will give me the CID once they receive it.

They reply you within one week with confirmation and client id. I would say you to wait for this week and if you still don't get the mail by then, email or call them to get your client id.

It is possible to get it early if you have can convince IEA that you have reasonable reason for that... Just wanting to apply for PR urgently is not (and I am not saying this is your reason so please be calm).....

Good luck with your application....

I sent the application more than three weeks ago. Now I enquired with the postal services in my country. They are saying that it has reached Sydney on 30.07.2010. However, further investigation to know when did it reach the IEAust office will take more time. I think it might have already reached IEAust since it's been more than 17 days since it reached Sydney.

If it has reached them then why haven't they contacted me yet?
How long do they take to respond?

Should I email to IEAust?

Default IEAust Skill Assessment Applicants of Jul-Aug 2010

Hi guys,

Just got the idea to share our status for the IEAust skills assessment.
I applied on 24.07.2010 for Electronics Engineer.

All those who have applied to Engineers Australia for skills assessment in July or Aug 2010 please share your current status here.

Hi All, I have just a question regarding EA assessment,

I am a structural engineer and I graduated last year. I have continued my professional development by attending short CPD courses. However, I could not find a appropriate job due to recession.
I was wondering whether this can affect my assessment outcome that I did not have a major work experience for about a year.

Thanks for you guidance

Shawn

Dear all,
I have just a question regarding EA skill assessment, I appreciate if you guide me.
I am a Structural engineer who graduated last year. I have continued my professional development via attending short CPD courses and self study at relevant professional body. However, I could not find an appropriate job due to the recession, and did not have a major work experience for a about a year.

I was wondering whether this can affect my assessment outcome and get a negative result.

Hi Shawn,

You have to show one year of professional experience for getting an assessment. But not sure if you have washington accord qualification.

No, thats not right... You don't need to show any work experience... You may have to go through the process of writing CDR if you are not under washington accord... The three episodes of CDR can be based on your undergraduate degree as well..... I would suggest you to go through engineers australia website and read the FAQs etc.
