Default Teaching in WA

Afternoon all,

My wife is a teacher in the Uk but a few years ago was told that she needed a four year degree to teach in WA. Does anyone know if this is still the case.

She has a 3 year teaching degree and has been teaching in the Uk for nine years. I am an Australian so no visa problems for her.

All help and advise gratefully received

Hi Cale1977

Lots of good information on the Teachers Forum - there are a number of threads on this subject.

Also may wish to check WACOT site:

www.wacot.wa.edu.au/index.php?section=1

And Teaching Australia website:

Hope this helps

Requirements still stand the same 3 year degree plus PGCE or 4 year degree. Where in WA you thinking of going?

However I remember New Zealand changing rules and saying they would start accepting 3 year qualified etc.

Worth looking into this if NZ sounds like and alternative.
