Default Red Deer Housing

Hi Guys.

I'm looking for some advice on the best areas of Red Deer to buy a house. My brother in law has a telephone interview for a job, so maybe moving to that area.
Are there any areas to avoid in Red Deer, the company he would be working for are based just off highway 2 on the north city limit.
Any info would be greatly appreciated, Sharon,

Avoid Highland Green - unless you want drugs and the odd lady of the night of course The more poular ares tend to be south of the river although there are some lovely places North of the river. There is new constuction all over so depending on the type of property you are looking for depends on where to look as each subdivision has some very nice areas. For brand new houses look at Johnstone Park/Westlake/Inglewood/Vanier Wood/Ironstone (all on the outskirts) Westlake used to be under water and Inglewood and Ironstone are across the highway from the dump. Older areas are Bower (where we are and we love it) Deer Park/Rosedale/Morrisroe etc I will be happy to give more info - got to go and sort daughters flooded bedroom out

Now we've sorted the flood.....

Oriole Park and Normandeau are in some places less desirable. Whereas Lancaster and Anders more desirable (more so Anders). We don't understand the reasoning behind this at all. Our 1st house was in Lancaster, it was OK but the whole area seemed impersonable (fairly new area).
