Work Permit Medical to Permit timeline
Hi
I have posted on this subject before but thought it would be worth starting another thread as the whole work permit timeline thing confuses me
We posted our wp application on 02 march, got med request on 3rd April, had med on 20th April and according to the med centre our results were sent to CIC London on 2nd May. Can anyone give any up to date info on how long after a medical a work permit takes to come through? From old threads it looks like its between 1 and 9 weeks
My employer has been ok so far but i'm sure i sensed some impatience in his last, very short email which simply read "keep me updated please"!!!

I am in the same boat as you
Posted 9th March
med request 30th April
Med 17th May
Now another wait
i have had to almost plead with my employer to give me a later start date, as even with my med being so late they still think its possible to fly out on the 1st June
After many mails/phone calls they have extended till the 13th August. This is still tight as once I receive the wp(fingers crossed) I still have to give 2 months notice at work.

Yeah that sounds tight! I just don't understand why they take so long to look at a medical result and make a decision. If it takes them 2 months why don't they just admit that and then at least we all know where we stand. Its a month today since my med and still nothing but watch this space and as soon as i hear i'l let you know so then you know what to expect. Hopefully it will be any day now!!

Bit longer than the standard WP.
Application 30 Jan.
Medical Request date 16th Feb (received 26 Feb).
Medical 1 March
Request for further information 21 March, sent 22 March.
Final approval dated 27 April (received 30 April)
Good luck to all of you still waiting.

We got our work permits this morning. It seemed like ages but actually it wasn't too bad. Heres the timeline.
March 02-sent application fo WP
April 03-Received medical request
April 20-Had medical and results posted to CIC on 02 May
May 21-Received WP
