I usually fly Thomsonfly, but I've noticed the Ryanair pricing recently which is fairly tempting .... anyone got experience of flying with them?

Re: Ryanairphopia
My boss has flown a few times with them, out of Granada, no real complaints but as budget airlines go he prefers Easyjet, he is not here to ask any more questions about Ryanair, hence I am on Ex Pats ha ha

Re: Ryanairphopia
My husband has flown loads of times with Ryanair from Seville to Liverpool with no problems at all. Other relatives have also done the same route and think Ryanair are just great. My mum actually commented on how nice and helpful the crew were, but that was just after they got a massive slating on a tv documentary!

Use them most times, no problems, apart from the usual scrum to get a seat unless you spend the extra for priority booking. Take your own food as £5 for a sandwich is a bit excessive..

I always use ryanair, cheap as chips and the standard is what you pay for, but for a 2 1/2 hour flight i dont care if its rubbish when i've paid next to nothing for the seats

Dont they advertise flight to so and so and you end up landing miles away in the sticks somewhere, or was that someone else ?

I have used easyjet several times and apart from the scramble for seats found the flights, planes, staff ect good. My sister has used ryanair and did not like them at all. But I agree with the others why pay more for a 2 & 1/2 hou flight. Go for it

Flew with them last week.
If you're tall, I would not recommend it. Michael's knees ached for hours afterwards. Otherwise, as cheap airlines go, you get what you pay for. The flights were on time, the cabin crew was moderate. We flew from Valencia airport to East Midlands Airport and back without any problems.
Luggage is extra and if you have even half a kilo over you pay extra for it, so be aware.

Seems all good experiences for a cheap airline, so I'll give them a try. 0.01 Euros for a flight just can't be bad

Really you can only fly with the airline that is closest to you unless you don't mind a long transfer time, we fly Ryanair because Jerez is 45 min car drive from our house as opposed to nearly three hours from malaga, Seville is only just over the hour. As it has already been said with any budget airline you get what you pay for and when the flight is only 2 1/2 hours then it isn't much to put up with.
We flew Ryanair about 4 years ago and thick fog stopped us from landing at Jerez so we went on to Malaga could not fault Ryanair they had arranged for us to by-pass customs straight to the luggage carrousels, they had coaches waiting in the car park and bussed us back to Jerez. OK an extra few hours on our journey but not their fault. Have been messed about twice by having morning flights cancelled and transferred on to evening flights once we were not told until of this until we got to the airport but for us it is still the cheapest way to get to Jerez.
The last time we flew with them we were delayed for over an hour because the pilot would not take off, he had a red light that showed one of the doors was not shutting tight enough, he was told by airport ground staff that he could fly. He would not and it was not until he got someone in Ireland on the radio who talked him through the procedure and he finally after 3 attempts got the doors shut and red light off that we took off. Meant we were mega late getting to UK but we were in one piece.
