Hi folks

I am wondering if anyone got a CO within the last 2 or 3 months who is working in region 4-6 ?

I would be so happy to see any sign of movement in branch2 applications.

Yep, they are still alive and kicking....

It is to do with the structure of the ASPC - split into two Branches - Branch 1 consists of Regions 1, 2 and 3 and they process cases from India and the UK
Branch 2 consists of Regions 4, 5 and 6 and they process cases from the rest of the world.

I was aoolcated a case officer in February (Region 5)

I am a British Citizen though and live in the England, so why am I in Region 5??

Should I be worried??

I shouldnt think so, rumour is that 20% of British applicants are spread around different regions. Now that you have a CO you should be on your way to a decision, the frustration for those waiting is not knowing when they will get to the CO stage.

What kind of visa are you applying for and when did you apply?

I've applied for an SIR visa for South Australia and applied online Dec 06.

Medicals were finalised in March 07 so just waiting on a decsion.

I'm now concerned that my application will not be processed as quickly if I am in the wrong region.

I think you are looking at this from the wrong side

The original point of the post (I believe) was to see if people were being allocated CO's in region 4,5 & 6, not that once allocated a CO there is any issue with the speed of case completion.

It is oft commented that applicants who's location would probably lead to them being serviced by regions 4,5 & 6 are not getting CO's allocated in a resonable timescale.

Anyway there is really no point in worrying about it as you cant shift regions at this stage. You will find that the waiting goes quicker if you dont allow yourself to get wound up and no, you are not in the wrong region.

I totally agree with ex_exile.

Maybe only PR applications are processed according to the system I mentioned and TRs are spread over all regions? Maybe there is another inoffical system or no system at all? Who knows.
