Lightbulb Diaries out Perth people!!

Ok, this isn’t an ordinary cut and past, I’ve tried to select some of the best events for the coming months. I think I’ve got the most major ones, but I got sick of it in the end and I have skipped quite a few so if anyone else knows any good ones, let me know, and I’ll edit them in! There’s sooo many!!

First of all: it’s Wildflower season, now, they’re everywhere, and there’s also exhibitions and shows etc. (like in King’s Park)
Also, it’s WA’s 175th Anniversary, so lots of events, see http://www.175anniversary.wa.gov.au/

September
Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 September -Perth Hills Wine Show
Kalamunda Agricultural Hall, Canning Road, Kalamunda
More than 100 wines from 20 different producers will be available for tasting and purchase at the show, which is characterised by its friendly atmosphere.

16 & 17 October Serpentine Gala Showjumping Weekend

Sunday 24 October – Rock It, Spring Edition, Joondalup
The Spring Edition will be headlined by Australia's greatest current rock export Jet who will share the stage with other Australian artists such as weirdo-rock revolutionaries Spiderbait, swinging punk rock heavyweights The Living End, local pop-rockers Jebediah, skate-rock heroes 28 Days and a swag of the rising stars including Hilltop Hoods, Rocket Science and Dallas Crane with more acts to be announced.
http://heatseeker.cluedesign.com.au/...=ROCK-IT&tid=2
mmm, sounds pretty good! Anyone else going?

November

11-14 November - Telstra Rally Australia
www.rallyaustralia.com
(I’d rather go to the blues )

2nd Weekend in November (12-13-14 Nov) Bridgetown Blues
This is being held for the 12th time in my ‘home town’ Bridgetown. It’s 3 hours south of Perth, but I think worth the drive. It’d be a good weekend away, even if you’re not completely into Blues, it’s just a lot of fun, a street party on Saturday, and the area is really nice (hilly and with the Blackwood River). There’s motels, B&B’s, camping and lots of farm retreats and cottages (my dad even built some!) I’d get in quick though, it’s always very busy!!
We’re certainly going, so let me know if you are, and we’ll meet up!

Btw, a big up and coming artist is going to be there: Xavier Rudd. He’s already pretty big, but coming back for a second time, because the Blues is where he sort of started.
There’s just bands all over the place, in cafe’s, the hotels, town hall, school, local oval etc.
http://www.bluesatbridgetown.com/

Sunday 14 November – A Day on the Green, Sandalford Caversham Estate 3210 West Swan Road, Caversham
Concert + food and wine + kids entertainment zone
http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/s...htm?ID=9007429

Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 November - Margaret River Wine Region Festival.
Its 4 days of wine, food and music bliss, a serious sleep over is recommended!
75 venues presenting acclaimed musicians, accompanied by fantastic cuisine, world-renowned wines and an astounding natural environment.
The festival is staged overlooking forests, white beaches, acres of lush vineyards and magnificent surf breaks.
www.mrwinefest.org.au

Saturday, 20 November - Armadale Highland Gathering and Cycle Classic
The largest Scottish Gathering in WA.* Experience all things Scottish including continual main stage entertainment, Bagpipe competitions, Scottish Dancing displays and exhibits, local and Scottish crafts, heavy events, series of cycling races, Scottish animals and food.* Located at Minnawarra Park, entry is free. 12 noon - 7pm.
http://www.armadale.wa.gov.au/city/c...andevents.html

20 – 28 November - Fremantle Festival
Each November the port city comes alive with the Fremantle Festival. Ten days of hair raising acrobatics, world class music, blistering sensual Latin dance and much, much more.
http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/s...htm?ID=9006570

Sunday 21 November - The Houghton Jazz Wine Picnic, Middle Swan
Wine and jazz lovers flock to the event for a day of fine wine, food and jazz music set beneath the magnificent Jacaranda trees at Houghton Wines in the Swan Valley.
www.houghton-wines.com.au

Sunday 28 November – Iron Man WA Triathlon, Busselton
www.ironmanwa.com
(Busselton is really nice for a weekend. Nice sheltered(netted) beach, 1km long jetty, fun park on the foreshore etc etc.)

And then of course come Christmas, New Year, Australia Day and the Perth International Arts Festival from 10th February.

Print it out and stick in on the fridge

Oooh, I'm getting excited about the Show now! :-D
So, when is everyone going?(I'm not asking if, but when You lot want to integrate don't you )
We're going Sunday(3), most probably. Anyone want to meet up?

I also want to try this Windsurfing, but I'm afraid it's going to be one of those things that I do want to do, but it never happens....
BUT, if someone else is going to, and we meet up, then we'll have to go!
:-D
