Shipping from Zimbabwe?
Hi there,
Over the weekend, I went just a little mad and bought a lot of heavy
stone sculptures. Anyone recommend a reasonable and reputable shipping
comapany that I can use in Hararre/Zimbabwe to ship to Australia/UK?
Thanks
Nav

My instinct is to say you would have had more fun throwing your money
off the Eifle Tower.
However your first problem might be to negotiate the overland journey
from Zim to a coastal port.
You do not say in which country you are based. If in the UK then go to
someone such as RS Group Transport who will be able to recommend
forwarding agents.
But, good luck. I think you will need it.

Hi Nav,
I don't know the dimensions of the pieces you want to ship but in case
they fit into a 20' or 40' container you could pick Safmarine to handle
the transport, both inland and overseas. You can take a look at
www.safmarine.com and select the routing you want (f.e. Harare ->
Sydney). In case you need some more info you can always contact me and
yes, I work for Safmarine ;-).

Re: Shipping from Zimbabwe?
Bad timing.
Until a few weeks ago the Zimbabwean postal service was charging less
than $1US/kg to ship items to the UK. That figure leapt to between
five and ten times that amount the day before I arrived hoping to post
home 20kg worth of wooden curios
If you were hoping to exploit Zimbabwes famously cheap shipping rates
then you're going to have to think again. Sorry.
