FAQ's- Read these before posting questions
While I believe that immigration matters are complex and technical in nature, there are some regular questions that can be answered generically.
I'm sure there have been past efforts to put together such an FAQ, but here's my attempt so far.
I'm not alone in doing this, and would surely welcome any input, especially if it's to point out frequent questions asked here that I haven't yet picked up.

Re: Basic FAQ
Excellent job Peter. Well done
May i suggest a "Monthly FAQ Posting" seems to work well for other
newsgroups etc.
Regards
Rod.

As I said in the e-mail: brilliant.
I concur with the suggestion to post a monthly reminder. I also invite
the regular contributors to this newsgroup to
a) supply Peter with any FAQs they encounter and
b) mention the FAQ when answering a basic question which is answered
there
Keep up the great work!

Peter,
Great idea - though I think you have an ulterior motive to reduce your workload.
I reckon your going to put an autoreply on pointing everyone to the FAQ's - LOL
No seriously, without the help of yourself and many other people the immigration process is a nightmare for lots of folks out there.
Cheers

Yes, how did you guess I had that in mind. I'm already starting to do it (I'm sure I'll be accused of being arrogant as it becomes more regular)

Re: Basic FAQ
Hey Pete
This is excellent.
Very to-the-point for most people who need a quick answer.
The next best thing (a wish) would be to update it periodically.

I haven't even completed it, so the list of questions is still expanding.
Also, I'm not the sole author of this document. I've left out any references to the FAQ's sources simply because I forgot to include them in the first round
