I know subject access specifies a 40 days turnaround...but I would like to have a general idea of how long Scotland yard are taking to process requests. It has been 35 days since we applied and nothing has come through as yet!

It looks like they go right up to the wire....do they?

Its 40 days for us on saturday - having got through to them , they said it is in the system and they are aiming to post it out this week to meet saturdays deadline.

they are that inundated with pcc requests, they dont even log your name onto their system until about 30/35 days.

mine took 36 days from the day application was lodged at the police station (Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester) to when the checks landed on the door mat. So you might hear tomorrow!

Surely, one should expect and indeed get better service than this in this computer age. It wont surprise me if the PNC is a room full of files with some poor police constables employed to manually check records.

Me and OH applied at the same time (using the same envelope!) and mine came back in under fortnight while OH's came through at 38 working days. Mind you, OH was a little naughty when he was younger so had lots of fun winding him up during the wait.

How do they explain that? Surely, they must have worked out that the applications were linked not least as they were in the same envelope...It looks like we are just going to have to wait till Monday as 40 days for us falls on Sunday 16th.

39 days and nights

I can now see we are not alone...the waiting is painful, every visit from the postman is eagerly awaited and then, we see they are all bills!

Still waiting for my OH's - Meds will be done on Thurs, application is all done and virtually ready - just waiting on his police clearance. It will 40 days on Friday!!

Wish it would hurry up! We applied in Ealing, West London.

Like Angela said and from the various responses, it certainly appears Scotland yard are over-run with requests and getting as close to the 40 days as they possibly can.

I have tried to call them but keep getting through to a recorded message...I hope ours and everyone waiting gets theirs in good time!
