From appliying to receipt...How long did your police check take??
#1
I know subject access specifies a 40 days turnaround...but I would like to have a general idea of how long Scotland yard are taking to process requests. It has been 35 days since we applied and nothing has come through as yet!
It looks like they go right up to the wire....do they?

Dead right !! - even my friend in the police cant get anywhere.
Its 40 days for us on saturday - having got through to them , they said it is in the system and they are aiming to post it out this week to meet saturdays deadline.
they are that inundated with pcc requests, they dont even log your name onto their system until about 30/35 days.

Its 40 days for us on Sunday...how did you manage to get through to them? All I keep getting is a damn answer phone. Phoned my local HQ and they've asked me to call them on Monday 17th if nothing arives.
Surely, one should expect and indeed get better service than this in this computer age. It wont surprise me if the PNC is a room full of files with some poor police constables employed to manually check records.
I hope we get a response later this week...good luck with yours!

I promise you, even if you work there you have to go through the system at the same speed as everyone else. Its an incredibly busy area, and the number of applications rises every year, with no money for extra staff. There are some that come back quicker, but don't bank on much less than the 40 days.

Me and OH applied at the same time (using the same envelope!) and mine came back in under fortnight while OH's came through at 38 working days. Mind you, OH was a little naughty when he was younger so had lots of fun winding him up during the wait.
Hope yours will not be too much longer.

no...I meant I received them after 39.
Don't worry...we all went thru the same thing and were for some reason surprised when they did eventually arrive.!!!

I have tried to call them but keep getting through to a recorded message...I hope ours and everyone waiting gets theirs in good time!

I keep ripping the letters out of the postmans hand as he puts them through the door - he must think we have a dog! Maybe I will bark loudly tomorrow morning

...I see you are heading for WA as well, we are hoping to head for Perth as well. I've got a job out there. Are you from Perth originally?
