Where I work we have all these PC rules but the guys are shockingly un-PC. I've come to realise that it's not because they are rude or insensitive, but rather that they honestly aren't aware of differences. Not where I work anyway, it's like the UN in there

There are some things they do where I work that would get you hung/strung and quartered in UK :scared:
I don't think they mean to be rude or abrasive however I do think they are insensitive. Subtlety is not in their vocabulary.
Ten gallon hats......and two gallon heads me finx

The day after I got citizenship I said something really stupid & my boss commented; "I knew that lobotomy would have an affect on you."
I suppose it can be very insensitive, especially if it's your toes they are treading on, but I've learnt to let it go and not really take it seriously. I honestly don't think they even think about it most of the time, but if I think they mean it they'd get it from me. I prefer that people's reactions modify other's actions rather than a set of stupid PC rules which are most of the time stupid & unrealistic anyway. The only time I get really narky is if they get cruel and unusual. We've got a slightly "slow" guy who works with us & one guy is always making a fool out of him. So I stepped up to him one day & said quietly in his ear; "You're not really a very nice person, are you?"
He's been behaving ever since. People tell me I can be seriously scary at times and I like to use it when called upon

Only prob is though, in cases of genuine hardship. Hopefully this is taken into consideration and they aren't "shamed" for something they couldn't help

And there is no PC brigade over here
?
And there is no instances of crazy rules and regs?
Theres as much crap over here as there is n the UK a big difference is the size of the population against the ranks of bureaucrats.
I love living in Australia but there are as many stupid and idiotic things here as in the UK. The secret is not to let what doesn't effect you, bother you.

Warning to the guys, and the women that enjoy this kind of Banter. Once the lesbians get in they start complaining. Luckily most of our Night Shift ladies seem to be able to get them to calm down.
Takes a right tounge lashing though.

And yep, I brought the PC thing in because in this instance ....and in my opinion...it is true. This would NEVER happen in the UK and I'm proud the Aussies could be arsed cos, as I said, for once the good guys win.
That's not to say there are occasions here that PC correctness doesn't happen.
Where did I say that?
Nor is it to say silly rules don't exsist here.
Where did I say that?
And as for an argument with you HUP.
Can't be arsed.
I did say that

Are you saying it's OK to talk / have banter like people did in the 70's era for e.g. like Alf Garnet...... and it's only lesbian women who object with this type of mentality?
