Coming in to see an Expos game this weekend and would love it if someone
could recommend a nice hotel on on/near the metro (prefer green line but
will consider all). Prefer to keep it less than $130 US dollars/night.
Thanks

Hey, another Expos fan!
Hotel Europeenne, 1620 St. Hubert. 514-282-8749. www.hotel-europeenne.com
New, free continental breakfast. CHEAP. I got a midweek single room for
$60 Canadian per night. Very close to the Berri-UQAM métro station (one
train to the Big O from there).

Travelocty sometimes has a deal with the Marriott. I got a great room
for $139. a few weeks ago. You can take the hotel elevator right to
the Bonaventure stop, which IIRC, is on the orange line, and only 3
stops from the old town. The Marriott is listed in some sources as a
5 star and in others as a 4 star hotel, but the amenities are
excellent and most rooms have spectacular views of the city.

The Clarion on de Maisoneuve is right near the Atwater station. It is a nice
enough place, and you should be able to get a rate less than that.

We're just back from a trip to Montreal and stayed at Hotel Du Fort
http://www.hoteldufort.com which is a couple blocks from the Atwater
Metro station on the Green line. We had a superior room for $135CAD
or about US $95 before taxes. It was a very large clean room with
kitchenette (small fridge, coffee maker, microwave). Not much of a
lobby but the staff was very helpful. We liked that there was a taxi
cue 1/2 block away, 2 grocery stores (including 1 open 24-hours)1/2
block away and lots of restuarants nearby. Would definitely stay there
again.
