Hello - Calgary... our dream!
#1
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and have spent a lot of time reading through all the articles in Wiki and the thousands and thousands of posts.
My husband and I are hoping to move to Calgary with our 2 dogs.
We are off on a recce in May 2011. My husband is by trade a fork lift truck driver but he is also a fully qualified game keeper.
I currently work as cabin crew/air stewardess/flight attendant... dependant on where you are from.
I have a vast amount of experience pre flying in administration.
Can anyone please direct me to a list of definitions... i am struggling to work out some of the abbreviations in the threads and cannot find a dictionary of them anywhere.
Thanks guys and here's to hoping our calgary dream will become a reality!

well our plans have changed somewhat since my original posts on here.
My husband has gained further licences and is applying for jobs in canada at present.
Having looked into it, it appears I will probably not be able to fly in canada due to not being fluent in french. So i have had a re-think and I am thinking of becoming a student and going into a career I have once tried to persue in the UK but unfortunately I was unsuccessful due to lack of experience
I am looking into returning to college/university and doing a Bachelors in Human Services in Police Studies has anyone done this degree or know of anyone who has? Would love a true student insight into this degree.
Also how easy it is to fit in as an international, mature student? I am a tad scared of returning to education after 9 years out of it! But if hubby gets a decent job I hope to be able to do this!
Many thanks

Hi Chris
An interesting choice of studies. Are you looking to join the Canadian Police, or looking to go into something to do with criminal investigation?
I would certainly recommend the Police forum, for which Jerseygirl has given you the link above, as there are some threads on there specific to Calgary.
Good luck with your plans
