Hi Dizzy
What I have been saying is that only a registered migration agent is properly trained and qualified to give the right and whole advice every time. They are bound by a code of conduct and have professional indemnity insurance to cover themselves against negligence (for the client's protection). They also must attend continuing professional development on a yearly basis. Some members on this forum might not know this. Not everyone knows about registered migration agents. I worked in the UK for 4 years and a lot of my clients had ever heard of registered migration agents. As this is a forum for Australian immigration, I would have thought that members might find details about migration agents useful. You are right, anyone can give advice. Whether that advice is correct or lawful is another thing. Advice from an unregistered person for one person may be useful and for another, lead them into a pit of immigration hell.
I do this for a living so I get to see all the sore and sorry souls that come into my office as a result of bad advice from well-meaning people.
There are some excellent migration agents on this forum like Alan Collett and George Lombard.

Besides the registered agents like George and Allan, there are other very qualified persons in this forum.
Jeremy is maybe one of the most experienced person i have ever come across. His advices are sometimes (not to say most of time) far better than those coming from registered agents and who hardly have any experiences. A fair dinkum.

Hello Liana
I hope this is a joke ......!!!!
Jeremy or JAJ is the man of all situations. Everyone inclusive of some newly registered agents have much to learn from him. And i'm sure a lot of forumers will approve.
I had quite a few hurdles with my application some time back but i was able to overcome most of them thanks to him, George and ors..
Karen.
