Refund not received after 6 months!
#1
Has anyone who landed in the last six months received their refund on the ROLF?
We landed in July and duly sent off the required form and proof of landing but have heard nothing since.
I know CIC work slowly, but you would think they could send the money they owe you a little quicker, six months is a joke!
I don't know whether to chase them or not. If past dealings are anything to go by, it probably wouldn't make any difference!

Most of my clients got their refunds within 2 months, but I have few who still wait after 6 months too.

Guess what the postman bought today - our cheque for our landing fee refund. About time too, it has taken nearly seven months to get it back.
Don't let anybody accuse CIC of rushing anything, ever!

My husband landed May 7th 2006...we filled in the forms, and we're still waiting.

We were given a refund form to complete and hand in when we collected our visas at the embassy in London on Jan 4th this year. Not knowing how long it would take we gave OH's brother's address as we may have gone by the time the refund came through. He has just rung to say he has received a letter addressed to us today. yes, its a cheque for £400 or so.
I can't believe it was processed so quickly, I wasn't expecting anything for 6 months!! Seeing all the PPRs coming through now maybe they have gone into 2nd gear at last

We are in the same boat, we landed on the 27th July 2006 and have sent of the refund request, but have heard nothing.
Is there a telephone/fax number you know of, for us to call to chase our refund.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks

We landed 7th July and have only just got ours back (25th Jan), so yours might be on its way soon!

Frustrating thing #1: I called them about 2 months after landing to moan about where it was, and inform them of an address change. It came to my old address in the end!
Frustrating thing #2: I got a letter from CIC saying that they were processing my refund and i'd get it in 6-8 weeks. I got it the next day
Frustrating thing #3: They made the cheque out to my sponsor, even though I had stumped up the cash
I cashed into my account on the day I left Canada to go back to the UK for xmas (without the gf/sponsor in tow). Turns out they froze all her accounts for someone cashing a cheque in her name and then fleeing the country!!!

I got mine in December, landed July 23rd. Didn't have to send a form in for it, would told it would be automatic.

Sorry to moan but I really am frustrated now. Oh well hopfully we will get our soon. The only thing that worries me is that we brought a house so changed our address about 4 months ago, so I am hoping the cheque has not gone to the old address, I did write to inform them but who knows whether they got the letter or not.
I can't seem to find a phone number to ring them, I only have the postal address in Ottawa, and canada post are just as bad (I have lost count of the amount of letters, bank cards etc that have gone missing in the post)
Back to the waiting game!

My cousin says there is a letter waiting for me at her place so I am hoping it's my cheque.
However, ISTR that on the refund documentation (or on the website, I can't remember which) it did say that refunds could take up to a year.

I called CIC yesterday to change our address, since I can no longer log into e-cas (well, it has been 9 months since landing). I asked about the refund, they said that they can confirm that no cheque has been sent out yet (which is good, because it means that it hasn't gone walkies), and that they allow themselves a full year to get the cheque out, so contact them again in May 2007 (a year after OH landed) if we've still not received anything. I'm curious about whether the cheque will show up in the next couple of weeks, now that I've brought it to their attention? I'm not getting my hopes up, but since we just moved into our new house and furnished it from scratch, $400+ dollars is nothing to be sneezed at!
