Food glorious food....

Have loved reading this thread & although Im not from the UK many of the things you talk of missing arent too far off what I miss too. Why is it its always food we miss the most?
My hubby took me to a place in Ohio called Jungle Jims that has some amazing international food. I was so excited when I got to the English section & saw the shelves lined with all those goodies Id been missing from home. Cadburys chocolate, Bovril, good curry sauces, mint sauce etc & then when I came across the frozen section hubby thought I was about to have a heart attack when I spied pork pies & pork sausages. talk about thinking Id died & gone to heaven. Nothing like sitting down to a nice plump pork banger. How Americans can think their sausage is something great I will never understand. As a treat last weekend hubby drove me 70 miles to eat at a English Chippy hed come across on the net. Real fried cod with real chips & lots of malt vinegar on all the tables. Even had curry gravy on the side
Noticed bangers & mash on the menu so asked the guy about them & he sold me a pound of sausages to take home. Now that was a real treat. Even had mushy peas on the menu although Im not a real fan of those. Couldnt wait to get home phone my sister & brother inlaw back in NZ to tell them. Hes from Manchester & the first thing he said when I told him was "of course you will be taking us there when we come over next year wont you?" Geeze now Im going to go to bed & dream about food all night
No counting sheep tonight its going to be food glorious food all night long

At Christmas, I shopped this site which was like shopping at Tescos. I also wanted Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps and the lady that runs this site said she'd get them for us as well.
SHE GETS EVERYTHING AT TESCO....... It took < 7 days to arrive.
