They should do if they are pretty newish ones

You wil l probably find that as long as you use as ky box or such like they should work through the AV channel, but off a straight arial you will probably find you have no sound .

Mine did, but I think the shippers damaged it in transit as the BBC, ITV, channel 4 and Five channels no longer work.

ABC is just BBC, but it takes 5 years for the signal to get here

Leave the tv at home. Unfortunately australian electricity is very different to uk electricity. The electricity runs the wrong way round and if you plug your tv in here it will explode, probably.

Dont worry if they do work there is not much on anyhow, get out enjoy the sunshine

Sorry you are wrong I have found it to be exactly the same as the UK, when you touch it it definatley stings a tad , you must have been one of those naughty naughty soon to be deported people who have changed their own plugs.

This a myth that pervades this board and its not true.

It depends on the design (technical reasons) of your TV and which transmitter in Oz you get your TV from. I used to design TV's and even some 15 year old TV's will work here, however some brand new one won't.

Try it and see is all I suggest.

Getting a digibox should solve most all problems for those in Metro areas.

Confirmed....by Philips CRT is 4 - 5 years old, but as it cost loads and has built in digital (very rare for CRT) and CAM slot for future PPV card, I wanted to bring it with me.

I e-mailed Philips and they very quickly confirmed it will be no problem in Oz.

But I'm not expecting my nearly new Bush LCD to work - but it will do for PC monitor.

You could also buy a inexpensive VCR from Oz (E Bay or second hand shop or buy one if you intend to record TV as for sure the VCR will not work except to play your existing tapes) and run the TV through that and receive your TV stations without any problems.

Yes but you will may well need to use video leads/scart not the aerial lead.
There is potential with aerial lead depending on how your tv is designed to get no sound.

(You might not want top know this) Australia uses pal B/G as opposed to the UK's PAL I and the sound subcarrier is at different frequency offset. Some TV's detect and support it others don't.
