Blimey, well done Vash. I use a poaching pan myself, no messing about with clingfilm. But then I get in a mess quite easily, you should see me with scissors, sellotape, glue, paper, paint, not pretty . So putting an egg in clingfilm is a definate no-no

You people make it sound so hard!

You can either use an egg poacher (you fill it with water and crack the egg into a little pouch with a touch of butter or marg first) and let it boil for a couple of mins OR

You bring water to boil in a frypan and gently crack egg so as not to 'spread' the yolk. Any 'stringy' bits you can pick up with a spatula or leave alone. In anycase the rule is , only boil for a couple of mins and also, flick water from within the pan over the yolk as you cook it. This helps cook the yolk.

He says "Poach it as normal" in the clingfilm - how long is that for then? It's really made me fancy a nice poached egg and a bit of buttery granary toast.
