Default Landing without sponsor ... or 'real' address

Hi,

Apologies for the thread as i'm sure the answers to this are out there somewhere....

I have my PR visa (expires next May) in my passport so would like to land as soon as possible. We currently live in the UK - with our house on the market. Ideally, I want to land by myself (without my sponsor - the wife, or our two young children). My wife is Canadian and we have canadian citizenship for the children so I was the only applicant.

First question is will this be ok (to land by myself)? From what I can see, I think it is but just wanted confirmation.

Also, what do people do about giving an address for their PR cards? We have relatives in New Brunswick so could use their address however I intend to land in Halifax as that is where we will eventually be moving to and I'll use the trip as another recce. We also have a relative in Sackville so could use her address. Do you tell immigration it's a relatives address or not mention it unless they ask?

Just wondered what others had done and apologies again for asking questions which are undoubtedly answered elsewhere

Yes you can land on your own.

You can also give your relatives address. We gave family address in Vancouver when we landed in Calgary. No problems.

We are planning the same thing. My husband will probably go ahead and land without me (the sponsor) and our 3 kids. He'll house hunt/job hunt then come home and we'll all fly to Toronto together, because there's NO way I'm getting on a transatlantic flight alone with 3 toddlers! We've gone through the paperwork and nowhere does it say the sponsor has to be present. I am going to send him with a signed letter stating my intentions to return to Canada just in case they ask.

You also have the option of not giving an address when you land. You have up to 6 months to update the info via the CIC website. If you dont give them an address by that point, then you will have to reapply for the PR card, at your own expense...
