My fiancée is has already applied for a permanent residence. We’ve received our
receipt and its in progress. She is an Occupational Therapist and she just got a job
offer at a Hospital. Can she qualify for a temporary work permit while we wait for
the permanent residence ???

She may seek an employment authorization while the PR application is pending, but
validation of the job offer will likely be a requirement in order to be successful in

People are allowed to have both a valid temporary reason for being in Canada as well
as the intent to make Canada their permanent place of residence.

Since there is no fiancee category anymore, I assume your fiancee has applied for PR
skilled worker.

If she has a cooperative employer she should be able to obtain the necessary
documentation to apply for a work permit (ie a validated offer of employemnt)
