6% GST
7% PST
AND A FEE TO RIVA APROX $225
PLUS PROVINCIAL TEST FOR BC AT CANADIAN TIRE
VERY EASY
Honda Pilot made in USA no import duty (6%)

Whilst flagpoling it on Friday night to get new WP we met a father and son who were importing their new cars from the US.
Mr L2S sent more time talking to them about it, and less than he should on calming my nerves about 5 IO's looking at our paperwork!
Apparently it is very easy, and the US car dealers are making it easier all the time!

A colleague of mine has given up trying to buy a Honda Pilot in the US because of this, and is now going for a Subaru Tribeca??instead (35k in the US vs 55k in Canada). They will honour warantee, but only for the US cost of any warantee work. You have to pay yourself and then submit a claim to Subaru.
Don't forget that US cars will have an mph guage which must also have km markings dor the car to pass inspection. I also beleve that for teh car to pass inspection the odometer must also have the units (eg miles) clearly marked for the inspection to be passed.
