It's a small town about 30 minutes out of Calgary on the other side of the Tsuu T'ina Nation.

Looks like a nice enough small town. It's on the edge of Kanaskis so the scenery is fantastic. Doesn't have any major industries or businesses, so you either have to come up with an independent means of finance or commute to Calgary.

That 30 minutes is in summer - I have no idea what it's like getting to Calgary in Jan/Feb.

Planning to move there?

Rich people live there. That's about the sum total of my knowledge of it.

don't know if you saw the programme Get a New Life, but last year that's where a couple settled in Bragg Creek. Looks very nice, a bit remote for me, i did visit there many years ago when lived in Calgary. It is sometimes repeated on tv, keep look out for it. They updated with the family not long ago, they are still there and have a fantastic house, he was a specialist paramedic travelling to the oil plants, very good money. Good luck with your info, sorry couldn't help with the area.

a trip there would be well recommended. as said before it is a very pretty little village with a few shops and a petrol station just off the highway. the elbow river runs right thru the centre of it surrounded by forests. some artsy places too with nice ice cream!! don't know if i would liked to be a teenager growing there very small, veryout of the way. for the outdoorsy family tho its perfect with bragg creek park and kananaskis country right on your doorstep. glaswegian must have a slightly heavy right foot the naughty boy!! i'd say 45 mins without snow or rain to calgary.

met a couple who live there in a pub in calgary. drove all the way and back so that the bloke could down beer in a bar watching the england match!! what a wife!!!

Depends which bit of Calgary we're talking about ... I live in the deep SW a few minutes away from 22X ... takes me 45 minutes to get to McLean Pond or Allen Bill Pond in Kanaskis ... I pass the edge of Bragg Creek on the way ... would take me a little longer to drive into "downtown" Bragg Creek.

I don't think Bragg Creek even has an arena, which is an issue for anyone with teenagers ... no leisure centre means the kids have nothing to do, or you have to drive to Calgary to find them something to do ... idle hands and all that.

I'm one of a whole host of ex pats who reside in Bragg Creek. There are two bars, neither great, but both get the job done, if you know what I mean. Apart from that BG is a great place to live. We have 3 kids and living out in the counrty is just great for those guys.

By the way the a**holes who appeared on the TV program have moved away thank god. They actually left UK owing over 30000 pounds, they actually bragg about such things so I presume it's true. I am sorry to say I had them at my home a couple of times.

Anyway drop me aline when you get to the Creek, I can show you the 2 bars lol.
