Default Football on TV out there?

Hi there I know this is a bit silly but one of the biggest things I will miss is my yearly viewing of prem football and champions league and fa cup on sky. I remember when I was out there in canada 2001 there was not much football on tv. I ended up having to check internet and read about football. Is there any channels that show alot of football so I can get my usual dosage to keep me happy

Lord, not again!

3 prem games on saturdays on sportsnet
2 (usually live) champions league games on TSN midweek, and tape delay of a couple of others
Not usually any FA cup other than brief highlites and sometimes the final
No championship coverage.

World and Euro cups covered between TSn and sportsnet.

Highlites and summary shows on "the score" and sportsnet.

Fair question, if you're a football fanatic. As mentioned earlier on this thread, there is a good deal of coverage (Premier League, Champions League, World Cup, Euro champs etc) but the atmosphere just isn't the same as watching it back home. True, the Saturday games do link to the commentary direct from the UK but are introduced by guys who mostly haven't that much of a clue (except for ex-Ipswich, West Ham and Canada goalkeeper Craig Forrest). The mid-week analysis of upcoming games is poor and usually dominated by some big moron (name I can't recall) who knows shite all.

There's also the fact that TSN often feature little-known commentators, a few of whom are somewhat knowledgeable, but in that 'mix' are guys like a wee cretin called Tommy Smith (not to be confused with the former L'Pool captain), a wee Irishman who sounds like he's just off the boat with the cow shite still on his wellies and is not averse to throwing in the odd anti-British jibe now and again.

I am so used to the bbc team (Lineker,Hanson etc) ITV with there regs. I love skys sports coverage with great proper football people. It a shame you cant get the pre match stuff as well. I hope its not a bunch of people who know nothing and then just show match and thats it. But thats nitpicking I guess lol As long as games are on I guess I will be happy. I can also read online for more reactions.
When I sort my own place out what packages should I buy to make sure I get all the UK and european football. I am a Man United Fan by the way. I have watched them and football since 1990 when I watched my 1st world cup and England lost in semis.

AS long as you have a fairly basic "plus" package with cable or satellite you will have TSN and Sportsnet.

Fox Canada Sportsworld or whatever its called also carries extra games and some internationals, and is a staple of digital cable / satellite. Also on digital is "Gol TV", 24/7 soccer. But "life is for living", not watching soccer on TV...thats what my wife says anyway

http://www.tsn.ca/
http://www.sportsnet.ca/

http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/920998
http://www.goltvcanada.com/

Cable and satellite providers will be able to help with packages
cogeco, rogers, shaw, bell expressvue, starchoice, are names that spring to mind

you will see more premiership action in Canada than you do in the UK. I was visiting Montreal last Autumn and spent a whole day in the pub watching match after match on telly, 4 games in all if i remember right the full game, 1 live and then 3 shown in full but delayed one after the other. I am over again in 1st week in April and expect the same. Can't wait until we move over in the summer.
