Default How do I get my qualifications recognised?

HI

Can anyone help me with the below questions?

1) I'm a fully qualified Injection Molding Technician with a City and Guilds lavel 2 & 3. When I look up scimilar jobs in Canada on the net, they ask for qualifications such as "diploma's grade 12" which means nothing to me . When/If I get into Canada, how will I get them to recognise my qualifications?.

2) What is the Housing rental market like in Ontario Barrie?.
When we move to Canada next year we would have enough funds to almost but a house, but I believe what most people do is rent first of all, to give them time to find the right house and make sure the area is suitable.
I would like to do the same, but believe the housing rental market generally in Canada isn't that big?. Can anyone advise me on what the rental market is like in Ontario (especially Barrie, where we plan on moving to), and if possible, approx prices on 3 bedroom houses, furnished/un-furnished.

Thanks

hi weener

For your education diploma grade 12 is the same as your secondary education gcses/o levels which count for the same for employment

as for your city and guilds over here this is not recognised and is useless.

once over here i would recommend looking at the colleges/universities and see if there is any differences in your city and guilds exams and the ones over here, once you think you are at the required standards you can challange the exam for a small fee if sucessful you get the qualification for over here(canada) and with your experience hopefully find a job in that field

As for renting a good idea for a number of reasons

a)Getting a job

b)Buying a house requires a good credit rating, but i have a good credit rating you say. IT does not matter unless it comes from canada
So that first year of renting you can get your bank account/credit cards and improve your credit rating

c)Most banks wont give you a loan and certainly not a mortgage unless you have been employed for a year.

as for finding a place i can only suggest the internet and look for it.
