Hi all,
I noticed another thread in which its mentioned that on DIMIA's website there is a huge checklist of things to send to prove your marriage eg. financial proof, social proof, how u met, how u support each other etc etc!
I've seen this info on DIMIA's website...but can't find it now...but what I have noticed is that Booklet 6 only requires a copy of the marriage certificate!
So which is correct? (We only sent our marriage cert...and r now worrying thats not enough..as all we have are bank statements and council tax bills in both our names).
What did u all send? Especially keen on what those who got the 136 visas sent?
Thanks
TC

I thought all those extras were only needed for defacto realtionships TC. I know ours is a 139 visa (but they are both skilled offshore visas) but we only provided the marriage certificate.

Yes, just marriage certificate and kids birth cerificates (and ours). Can't see why they'd want more when we've been married 9 years, have 2 kids and want to emigrate together. We are using an agent so if any more were needed I certainly hope she'd know.

When we printed off forms pre July 1st this additional information was only requested for de facto - since July the 1st the requirements say whether you are married or in de facto

I've asked my agent the same question a few days ago regarding prove of marriage, specifically on the evidence of relationship.
She told us just to send in the marriage certificate only since ours was a 136 visa and not a spouse visa. I protested that the new 01/07 checklist clearly requires evidence but she insisted that the marriage cert is enough.
According to her, if the CO not convinced that being married for 10 years and having 3 kids as evidence of a relationship, then the CO can go right ahead and ask for more prove.
Of course, we will have to prepare the evidence but only if and when it's actually requested.
Since she put it that way, I decided to follow her advise. Well, I pay her for advise anyway, so I golly well better listen :-)
Regards,
Perg.

don't worry. the only proof we have will be our marriage certificate. we'll get that on saturday when we get married!
and when we send it off we'll have only been married 2 days with no other proof, as we don't live together so no joint bills etc. you'll be fine!

Hope DIMIA dont' question why. The truth is that we didn't bother changing her name in he passport. Thought we'd do it after Oz citizenhip.
Oh well...will see what happens.

After keeping the possibility of a move to Oz secret for a year and half to my work collegues I have managed to let it out to 4 people today. I just hope they keep it secret now; I don't want the boss to know

Same here...I haven't told a soul (except my parents). My wife has been telling a few people at work though. I've told her not to keep it hush and not tempt fate.
Hope you have a great day on your wedding...and enjoy your honeymoon.
