I know it. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure. I've been over there several times, but only for 10 days or so at a time. Like I said in an earlier post, I've got my USC, just in case!

Congrats on everything. I myself am thinking about moving back in the near future and noticed you are taking your dog. I have a dog and couldn't bear to leave him! Can you tell me exactly what you did to bring him home with you??
Thanks
Kevin

Also try the search facility at the top of the page. Go to Advanced Search...search the MBTTUK forums for taking dogs back to the UK. There's been loads of threads on this subject.
Edit: This is what my search brought up. It may be time sensitive...if so follow my instructions above. Good luck.

The links Jersey Girl provided give you all the information that I could offer. (I got a lot of my information from others on the forum who have taken dogs with them.)
My dogs got a 3 year-rabies shot in 2006 and had the titer test done. I checked with Defra and the answer I got said that as long as the rabies vaccination was kept up to date it would be ok.
I've got to go through the other steps. Tomorrow I'm going to call Continental to find out what I need to do to get us all booked on the same flight.

They do. I talked to them today and there isn't any embargo any time of the year. I believe in the past they did have an embargo during the summer.
They suggested that I book the dogs first, because theirs can be changed without penalty. So if, for some reason, I can't get on a flight the same day, I can switch them. The prices quoted were higher than I had seen on line (go figure!). About $1500 for each dog. But I'm not charged until I actually check them in.
I haven't settled on a date yet . . . . but I'm thinking August 26th.

Congratulations to you Sarah - I'm excited for you!!
Marmalade - congrats and good luck to you too.
I plan on going back home after being here for more than 20 years. I know things have changed a lot but regardless, it's MY home and I'm ready to embrace it warts and all! .......now if I could just get this divorce rolling I'll be on my way
