World Cup
 

Well England into the World Cup next year after beating Slovenia 1-0 overnight with a last minute winner. Seem to be becoming experts at qualifying for the Euros and World Cup (excepting '08) but hopeless when in the tournements themselves, hopefully better this time.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will know who they play in the November play-offs next with the last round of South American qualifying. The All Whites playing the 5th placed team, which had been until this week Argentina, but who've now slipped to 6th place and could miss out totally. Peru now in 5th, above Argentina on goals scored.

Still in the Argentinians hands (not Maradaona though!) as 2nd to 7th in the South American group separated by only 4 points.

I watched the game live this morning (0745) they were typically poor.

Well Peru it is then, and tickets for the first leg seem to be selling out fast which is good to see. Would like to have gone to see it, but sadly sadly will be working that day :-( Peru definitely start favourites but hoping that the All Whites will still be in it going into the second leg.

I'm going Peru game, not sure why. I don't think it will be the football fix I require! Just need to escape this rugby crap for a few minutes!

I was hoping to go to the game until I saw how much flights were to Wellington and back.....

It would have been double had Argentina qualified given there may be have a chance Messi would step foot here.

Good luck to them. I think I'd prefer Peru over the Argies or Chile.
