Default Migration agents

Does anyone know anything about or have used Migration Associates (UK) Ltd?

If so are they good at getting people to NZ?

I attended an online seminar of theirs but apart from that know little about them.
Thanks

Absoloutly no reason to use an agent. If you have all the necessary points an agent cant do any more than you can easily do yourself. You either meet the criteria or you dont.
Good luck

Agree, no benefit normally and you can carry out all the necessary steps yourself. Save the money for removal costs - using an agent wont increase your chances meeting the criteria one iota.

Agents get a bad rep on here, I used a half hour session to go through my application to discuss the best way forward. Not every one has an easy case and the rules are always changing so don't trust 100% of what people interpret rules on here as they currently changing. Some even do a free first consultation so can see if you've got an easy case or not. Best thing mine did was line up all my ducks in a row, I assumed id be using my degree but a hnc was equivalent to an nz course and so not needing to be assessed. Visas are expensive and doing them wrong can be frustrating and even more expensive!

Thanks Timmy. Good points as I don't think mine will be straightforward.

In what way ? If you may have issues over health or character requirements then a specialist Immigration Lawyer is the way to go.

BTW. I don't tend to interpret rules. I usually check back to the INZ immigration manual and policies .
It should also be pointed out that agents often have the client do all the legwork anyway and simply collate & pass on paperwork.

The requirements regarding 'acceptable standard of health' are different depending if you are looking to come temporarily or permanently.

If you are looking to live and work here permanently but think you will need a medical waiver then look to Lane Neave.
I have no association but they are tried and tested for good results.

As you may know , depending on the level and type of cancer, New Zealand immigration will be looking hard to check if you would cost the NZ health service money.

The requirements are different depending if you are looking to come temporarily or permanently.

NZIS operations Manual
A4.10.1 Medical conditions deemed to impose significant costs and/or demands on New Zealand's health and/or education services

Malignancies of organs, skin (such as melanoma) and haematopoietic tissue, including past history of, or currently under treatment. Exceptions are:

treated minor skin malignancies
malignancies where the interval since treatment is such that the probability of recurrence is <10 percent

as BEVS says support members do not interpret the rules but refer to INZ site and as you can see in the Immigration section there is a sticky with up to date information of changes so you can always check there.

We offer our experiences and opinions only and links to INZ site that we feel fits.

As BEV says if you feel things will be complicated then see a reliable agent and in cases like this lots of recommendations for Lane Neave have been given.

We used an agent, as some may know on here from my post I did have a bit of trouble with them and my medical.

Doing all our paper work making sure everything was done they were great. I do think it appears more daunting then it looks. After that I didn't feel we needed them.

Would we use them again? Probably not.

I'm not surprised. You were far more efficient yourself.
