Afghanistan have kept Bangladesh to an easy run chase, can Afghanistan bat as well? They might be in with half a chance here if Geoff Boycotts rambling and Yorkshire accent don't lull them into a sleepy state

I support New Zealand, I emigrated, I haven't lived in England for 22 years, it would be absurd for me to continue supporting them over NZ, the country that supports me. I still support England when they are playing other teams and of course will always support any team playing against Scotland (15 years living there taught me that!!)

On to play Australia who are actually a talented team at the moment. New Zealand will very likely need everything they have to break Australia if it's going to happen.

I was surprised at the post-match interview with Eoin Morgan and his view that not much needed to change.
England has some great players and staff but I still don't think they realise just how far they have slipped in the last couple of years has hit home. It may take a bit of time to climb out of this slump. Every option should be opened after this campaign to turn the situation around (no more politics or carrying past animosity forwards), obviously they've had many issues managing talent which has culminated in losing a talented batsman and experience captain at a time when they've been found very wanting in those areas. Eoin Morgan has struggled to both manage the team and his own performance compounding this problem.
I don't believe what we saw today is an indication of the depth of talent in the English cricket but team politics and mismanagement. New Zealand cricket had similar problems with Andy Moles a few years ago but it was resolved much faster without bleeding talent.

New Zealand have a pretty good side at the moment - esp for something like the World Cup in it's current format. Decent bowling, some excellent batsmen, top notch fielding - it's all there.

I've just been reading and it's struck me that something else NZ might have that I don't have currently is local cricket teams. Where I live right now cricket is a teeny, minority sport and there's none to go and watch live whilst supping a pint of ale.
Is that different in NZ? Is it more like southern England with local teams that play matches at home?

Yes I do cheer for the All Blacks over England and yes I do cheer for NZ over England in pretty much all the sports I watch. I don't really feel the need to defend this. Its sport, not war and I am not beholden to a particular patch of planet in deciding who I can and cannot support.
Anyway, people can feel differently if they like and more power to them I don't have any issue with that.

NZ support me, the UK is distant past....live in the present the past is history....just like the English cricket team...
