Re: smoke free NZ
I very much doubt we'll be smoke free by then but it's a good public heath measure to aim for.

Re: smoke free NZ
People will just grow their own; after all weed and other drugs are illegal but there appears to be no shortage in the supply chain or users.
Perhaps once they have got the smoking thing all sussed, they will find the guts to take a similarly hard line with alcohol.

Didn't they say a few years ago that by 2025 it'll be 50 dollars a pack of cigarettes??? Think it was 2012 they said that would be their target???

We are apparently on track to be smoke free. Plus with a current trip in the uk... I cannot wait to get home! Where I can walk along the streets and not constantly be avoiding people smoking.

Re: smoke free NZ
Its going to be very very hard on the smokers
Its OK saying this n that and price them out,
The reality of stopping smoking is a nightmare,
and for some its simply not going to happen.
Chewing a bit of gum or sucking a lozenge isn't
going to work for everyone

It'll be a pity to see smoking go however it's had such a profound impact on our culture, we are not to be trusted with pleasure it seems .
