Shake Out Day - who remembered?
SHAKE OUT DAY
Who remembered? Did schools and companies do the drill ?
Although MrBEVS is a qualified Civil Defence volunteer I sorta doubt he would have done this if up on a roof or under a building.

I forgot. In any case my experience of quakes has told me that I would not , no-how, drop hold and cover. I would get out of the house if at home. If out and about I would be looking for a clear space away from trees, poles , cars etc.

yeh forgot, mind you so busy this morning at work.
and agree I would not be able to drop cover and hold in my work location and at home it would depend where I was.
the drop cover hold is a great thing to remember but is not always practical so I think just knowing what not to do - run, stand near windows, hold onto door so that you fingers could get trapped etc - is good.
Have a plan in place for family members so that they know what to do, where to go, know how to contact each other if not in the same area. If at home and we need to leave we have a notelet in the post box to leave notes for family and friends.
