It's looking like to today might be the day that we finally have enough scorch factor to register on the scale of scorch. I wasn't far out on previous predictions which suggested I might take the duvet off the bed about two weeks before Christmas.
I am pleased to announce that finally that day has come one week earlier than anticipated and today is now officially being declared a non-duvet day.

First report of scorchio this year! We where told about average global temperatures etc. but it's not been that scorching so far.

Gorgeous Scorchio day up here, early dog walk to avoid the heat followed by cutting the grass at mid-day (misjudged that one!) and a quick trip to the beach in the afternoon, perfect

Yes, finally some proper scorchio two days in a row - we haven't seen that in a while. A few cicadas decided to pop their heads out to fanfare the sunshine this morning.

I saw my thermometer hit 30 yesterday and today. Glad my heat pump does cold as well. It's been on quite a lot this week.

Auckland's scorch was worthy of a mention in the news at least today and our 'cold pump' has just gone on for the first time this summer.

Today not at all scorchy. In fact it was a little chillabums around ones nethers whilst at the beach this afternoon.

El scorchio in Cantabs on Saturday. Cycled to the beach and promptly jumped into the ocean. My only regret was that I didn't have my body board!

You would think we never had a summer before. 
Three days in a row we reach 29 to 30c and its starting to sound a lot like the UK - people are melting and simply not coping with the mini 'heatwave'; the shops are all sold out of fans and articles in the paper on how to keep cool and sleep at night.
Move along now nothing more to see here - it's back to the WAIN thread with thunderstorms and reports of flooding .
