No more it seems, in these egalitarian times women are also drinking the full pint: http://www.bbc.com/news/health-37751132

I'm with Pollyana on this one! A half pint is of no use to me unless I'm driving, which isn't often

Nice to know that I am "recent".
Ladies of my acquaintance have been drinking pints since the '70s if not earlier.
I think at one time it was considered "unladylike" to drink beer (or that the poor dears couldn't really cope with anything so manly).
Nice that someone finally noticed.

If we ever go to the pub, which isn't often, I always ask for a jug of beer. Can't be messing about with just a piddling glass of cold and fizzy.

Travelling around Europe I often ordered a beer for my wife (she suffers from dehydration) and a Cola Lite for myself. The waiter would always put the beer in front of me and give the cola to my wife without asking!

I don't mind a 'pint' in a reasonably slender / ladylike glass but draw the line at drinking out of a 'pint pot' with a handle on. What you get here is seldom a pint anyway and is usually just a small or big glass of non-specific measurement and quite often you don't even get a choice; you just get whatever you are given.

Are they or are they trying to give you a not very subtle hint?
I know! Fair trading should be all over that. If I ask for a pint I want a pint.
