Re: General Election UK
Hey everyone,
My husband received his overseas postal vote- the envelope says no stamp needed, the generic guide says no stamp needed if posting within the UK.
Anyone know if it needs a stamp?

Re: General Election UK
I get the feeling Theresa May secretly wants to lose as Brexit is a pain in the backside but she may well win. No party wants to take Brexit on - it means they'll have to do some work for once. Boo hoo, we just like sitting in meetings and the sound of our own voices. Tired and jaded? Moi?

After much faffing around and a few words, I have finally managed to get my proxy vote sorted ..... I think
Why do I want to do this?
Because the UK is my country & I may be able to return there one day.
NZ is where I live and I would vote here too. Why? Because I am boots on ground and so have a vested interest .
Voting matters.

My sister went back, but in an ice-cream container
She wanted to be among the bluebells.
Special trip.

I childishly poke out my tongue at you.
I shall finally be one with my beloved coastline and beach. It is written.

Interesting that both parties are polling closer togeather just before the manchester bombing. It looks like, if the current trend continues, it may be a hung parliament which would likely very segnificantly democratise a Brexit.

Re: General Election UK
Why do you expect the pollsters to be right :-) my money (literally) is on a 40 seat Conservative majority.

Re: General Election UK
Agreed, Conservatives have probably been given a boost by recent events. Also I do think the most likely outcome is still a Conservative majority.

It will be interesting to see if May survives after the election.
Especially if it's a hung parliament.
Knives will be out because of her bumbling performance.

Providing she gets an improved majority she will survive - not many alternatives (options like Hammond are tarred by their perceived 'Remainer' status, Osborne/Boris/Gove - nope).

She is in real trouble over this and it is anything but a boost for the Conservatives!
