Cliff Top Property!
Whenever I see the above used as an advertising tool by real estate agents all I can think is "Soon to be cliff bottom property!!!". Is that just me or do others think the same thing? What with global warming and all, I can't understand why it's classed as an excellent selling point still. I look at the amount of land advertised and think how much it's going to decrease by within 10 years .
I just don't get the appeal. Perhaps it's because the nearest I ever lived to the sea in the UK was when I lived approximately 18 miles from Southport and the tide was hardly ever in there! It certainly wasn't a consideration when we lived in Burton-on-Trent
Just some end of the week pondering. Discuss

Having been living in Christchurch during 2010 and 2011 I wholeheartedly agree!!! Seen way too many properties go from cliff top to "renovator's delight". I love living on a hill and having views .... but not in NZ

Cliff might fall down, might get uplifted - that's earthquake roulette!
Sort of thing that appeals to serial killers and dentists I'd imagine.

Besides, I think that I can remember seeing the occasional abandoned house in somewhere like Dorset or Devon when I was a child. Houses that were built near a cliff but the cliff had since moved and the houses were now over the cliff-edge so it is nothing new.
