Re: San Diego and surrounds

The view from Point Loma, my wife's office was a stone's throw from here and she could look out of the wind and watch the whales migrating.

Re: San Diego and surrounds

If you want to stay close to downtown, I would recommend the Marina area, or Little Italy. East Village is a little cheaper, but also a bit more run-down, and with a big homelessness issue (mostly...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Great points, will certainly take a look at the Camry hybrid (I guess that's the Toyota equivalent of the Accord?). My one gripe with my Prius was that it was suprisingly sluggish getting on the...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Great points, thank you. What makes the maths complicated is not knowing the point at which the battery goes bad. Is that in three years? Five? Not sure. Driving on California gas though, I'm likely...

Re: Presently have 401(k) and 457(b). Moving to a new job, would like to consoli

Good idea - I'll take a look at the fees schedule and options before making a call. I've got a couple of weeks to figure it out.

Re: Home and garden projects

Weird question for the brain trust: how do you get the rust off of a T-rex?

About nine months ago I was idly surfing online, thinking about landscaping the front yard, and looking for fun ideas. I...

Re: Presently have 401(k) and 457(b). Moving to a new job, would like to consoli

Thanks guys, yeah my math was duff there, that does make sense.
As I'm reading your responses it makes sense to keep them separate. I believe I read previously that an early withdrawal on a 457 is...

Presently have 401(k) and 457(b). Moving to a new job, would like to consolidate

Apologies if this comes across as a dumb question, I'm not familiar with the mechanics of these programs:

I presently have a 401k (80% of retirement savings), and a 457(b) (20% of retirement...

Re: Where to Vacation?
