Correct, but if you are resident before Jan 1, but not yet getting a state pension, as I understand it,you will still be able to apply for an S1 with heathcare when you do reach retirment age.

It all come down to the location of the assets and the residency of the beneficiary.

Spanish assets are liable to Spanish IHT whoever receives them. Non Spanish assets are liable to Spanish IHT if...

I agree. Much cheaper to go to a gestor in the first place. You don’t need an expensive lawyer to get you a driving licence.

Its an EU rule. It was not modified by the Withdrawal Agreement whereas the permanent residency rule regarding absence was increased from 2 years absence to 5 years.

There is no obligation to do so nor is there any time limit within which you have to get one. The advantage of a TIE is that it is effectively a Spanish ID card which the green form is not.

I bank with Natwest. They cancelled my credit card some time ago but I still use their debit card which is fine for me.

That was the case until recently with regard to IHT allowance. Take Andalucia, for example. The allowance for close relatives Group 1 and 2) is now €1m and a 99% exemption after that - effectively...

And regarding changing from the green form to TIE, it categorically says you do not have to do so. Contrary to some info coming from some town halls, there is no time limit for this option.

It may no longer be valid due to spending a long time out of Spain, but it will be valid to show your NIE number.

Assuming you are a resident, expect to be asked for a copy of your padrón, last year’s Spanish tax declaration and possibly official details of the actual income declared ie. pension statements etc.

You can also buy some products that have been banned for private use in the EU. Typically Roundup type weed killer in 5 l bottles that are only supposed to be sold to licence holding professionals.
