Obtaining an L1 visa has absolutely nothing to do with where you will live an you do not need any US address at all. This is from personal experience. How can you be expected to have a US address...

Go to either, my wife went to London for he L1 and I went to Belfast for my L2. The Belfast one is really small and seemed very relaxed, I was done in 40 mins and had a great day exploring the city...

You should be fine with this, it may not even show on the ACRO, I had 2 cautions, or so I thought, and had NO TRACE but I still declared them on the DS160 anyway. Look through my posts from late 2015...

I was in a similar position last year and had no issue at all entering on my L2 for my business trip. I was working for a UK company at the time.
