Re: Our year in Sydney

We liked the area so much, we came straight home and booked a holiday house in Jamberoo for when the old folks come over for a month (eek!) in October. Is Shoalhaven worth a visit? We thought we'd...

Re: Our year in Sydney

Hi Hutch

We're in Killarney Heights (Northern Beaches). I was thinking of you at the weekend. We went to Kiama for the day, you live a bit further south don't you?

Re: Snakes

Hi

We've been here for 7 months now. We live fairly near the bush in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Haven't seen a snake yet, just a few big spiders. Fortunately the spiders haven't ventured in...

Transferring UK pension to Australia

Sorry, I know this must have been asked a thousand times before, but the advice seems to change (and I am easily confused).

I've got a couple of frozen personal pensions in the UK. I moved to...

Re: Help! Anyone know good Oz websites for Furniture/Household Goods?

I would definitely recommend Freedom - fantastic products and a great place to work (I'm their new HR Manager - so perhaps a little biased).

Anybody else experiencing long delays with Sydney AQIS?

Our container arrived in Sydney on 4 September, but has still not been inspected. We were told today by the Australian agent (Wridgeways) that IF the container is inspected tomorrow, they will...

Re: Hello From Cheltenham

Hi Nicki

We live about 10 minutes from Brookvale. It has a good shopping centre called Warringah Mall (more shops than you could ever need). There are many fabulous beaches close by. If you...

Re: Sydney meet-up

Wouldn't have made any difference - I temporarily lost my phone - only found it yesterday, otherwise I would've called you to check. The holiday was great apart from a very scary moment when we got...

Re: is the tra the hardest part

I would definitely say that the TRA is the hardest part. We didn't use an agent, and I'm no expert, but I would have thought that if you pass the TRA, have the got the requisite points, are healthy...
