Re: Melbourne Meet 10th Sept @ 12.00pm

We're up for the Village Green, and maybe Cardinia Park afterwards if the weather holds, and we haven't throttled the kids by then. 'We' is myself, the missus, and the kids aged 7 & 4.

Cheers,...

Re: Melbourne Meet 10th Sept @ 12.00pm

Of course, it does clash with week 2 of the footy finals. You might find that all the blokes mysteriously disappear around 2pm...

Re: Tempory Business (Long Stay) Visa Question

Tracy,

We do pay school fees, but they are not too expensive. Our son is in Year 1 (State School), I think we pay about $150 a year for him. And I don't believe it makes any difference what visa...

Re: Agency is Employer - Can I do ENS ?

Wayne,

Thanks for the info. I believe the company would wait for a certain amount of time, but not 2 years. But then if my Company were willing to sponsor me on a 457 before sponsoring me for PR,...

Re: Agency is Employer - Can I do ENS ?

Unlikely. The Agency basically would have to guarantee me a job for 3 years, which they wouldn't want to do in the first place. If the Company no longer required my services, they would be stuck with...

Re: Aussie Job Market for Migrants.

A couple of things about the article. One is that the Skilled Migration Program will never be bang-up to date, never in sync with the current market. The job market, and especially the IT job market,...

Re: Agency is Employer - Can I do ENS ?

Jeremy,

Unfortunately, I don't earn that kind of salary as a contractor, and as an employee I would earn far less. So that options out. I guess I've been avoiding an assessment with the ACS thus...

Agency is Employer - Can I do ENS ?

I'm on a 457 visa, and I've been working for a Company for almost a year now on a contract basis, via an Agency. The Company have said they would like to sponsor me for Permanent Residency. However,...

Re: Cheap Emirates Flights

We emigrated to Melbourne September 2002 with our kids, then aged 1 & 4. I can't speak highly enough of them, they were fantastic. Would definitely fly with them again.
Cheers, Paul.

Re: ENS Changes ?

Jeremy,

Cheers, exactly what I was looking for. I already have details on the ENS, but just wanted to confirm that the MODL was no longer applicable for that process.

Thanks, Paul.

Re: Tempory Business (Long Stay) Visa Question

Jojo,
Almost three years ago I brought my family out on a 457 Visa. Although I could have gone the PR route at the time (I had plenty of points back then), I didn't as I didn't have the required...

Re: car seats on plane

Max,

When we emigrated back in September 2002, our daughter was 11 months old. We bought her a seat anyway, as we didn't want to have to hold her for the 24 hours ! We also had (and still have) a...
