Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

2nd largest. Second, bipat.
US GDP $21T
EU GDP (without the UK) $17T
China GDP $13T
UK GDP $2.8T
India GDP $2.7T

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Yes, well, India is very interested in trade with the EU, for obvious reasons (world's 2nd largest economy and all that). I'm sure they'll work something out eventually.

Re: President Trump

From afar, it just appears to be a mess over there. Unrest, looting, guns, crime... It's unfair to paint with one brush (I do like Americans) but the uptick of noise is discomforting.

Re: Tories in chaos

Yes, we know. We don't go to the resorts in the summer, for obvious reasons, but I've heard some hotels are all but empty, and others have closed their doors. For obvious reasons. And the 3 or 4...

Re: Tories in chaos

You can always hope, manch. Someday, maybe someday, we'll all be impoverished, crime ridden, and corrupt. But if recent history is any guide, don't hold your breath.

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Well, he and the entire Brexit government have certainly exhibited plenty of cluelessness, as a matter of public record. But yes, they've learned a bit in the process, for example, there will be no...

Re: Tories in chaos

I'm still waiting for that imminent EU rats nest collapse. It's been what, almost a decade now? In fact, up till the pandemic hit, it's only been steadily improving. And the consequences of the...

Re: Tories in chaos

Brussels is considering equivalence, but UK banks have already established residence and licences in the EU. And equivalence is much more limited than operating in the single market.

But more...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Well, regardless of who used not nice words, the fact remains that the UK entered this clueless, and seems to be exiting on similar foundations. Ignoring basic irrefutable realities, simply because...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

It may help to read the link I posted, rather than just the headline. The language used by the head of the leave campaign to describe Davis was as bad or worse than most things posted here.

But...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Very clear explanation.

I used to be in favour of a "federal Europe", largely because the EU's primary weaknesses are rooted in the lack of true " Unions". A true fiscal union (as...
