Re: Gizza Job

I think that sort of hours finagling is typical of all supermarkets- except currently in the online order picking department I’m in! We’re very much the golden child right now, and probably for the...

Re: Gizza Job

Oh no, often it’s a mess, especially in the non-grocery departments - produce, meat, dairy, etc. Most of the produce items say there are ‘999+’ of a thing almost all the time, but the produce team...

Re: Gizza Job

Where I live it depends on the store. The shopping list is laid out by aisle for Kroger stores, but not for Meijer or Aldi. But even when aisle locations are given, they can sometimes be incorrect....

Re: Gizza Job

Agreed - app jobs are perfect for people looking for flexibility, or like in your case a good temporary fix until you get yourselves relocated and are in a position to look for something more stable....

Re: Gizza Job

The Fiji one - I did get something like a couple of the small 6-bottle packs he ordered, but the guy also wanted a mad quantity of large packs that is almost never available at a standard...

Re: Gizza Job

I can well believe it. Most of my customers were somewhere between indifferent and wonderful, but I had a few that were ridiculously demanding and entitled. One guy absolutely lost his mind upon...

Re: Moving UK Pension pot from Co Scheme to draw-down

I too thought Glasgow Girl’s response was succinctly excellent - BE Forum won’t let me rep them again/ this much, apparently, but public hat tip to how helpful the post was!

Re: Coronavirus and Health status

I can add an extra anecdotal spin to this. I work in a supermarket which serves a moderately affluent area with about a 75/25 split of white/ black people living there. I regularly see Instacart...

Re: Gizza Job

Aw, thanks! I like making processes more efficient for all concerned 😊

Instacart sends out what they call a ‘batch’, which can be one, two or three orders for the same store, combined into one...

Re: Gizza Job

Hmm... I expect it wasn’t really assigned. Once we accept, we have 30 mins to get to the store before we get a notification; 15 mins later we get a final warning, and another 10-15 mins later the...

Re: Gizza Job

Some of it comes from the delivery fee and service fee Instacart charges, on top of the tip (no idea why they split those out; I expect the nickel and diming nature of it is irritating to most...

Re: Gizza Job

I am, but in around 2,000 deliveries I’ve personally never had a customer use it.

Re: Gizza Job

Yes, it’s the same person throughout. Instacart will offer your order out to their nearby gig workers about 1-2 hours before your delivery time slot. The potential shoppers will be able to see the...

Re: Gizza Job

Excellent, will do!

How is your delivering going? Have you received the promised supplies of sanitizers and wipes so you can safely keep the burgers coming to hungry teens?

Re: Gizza Job

Ha, I’ve been ‘striking’ since the virus started! Originally because I didn’t want to take the hit to my ratings (and therefore jeopardize my 5-star priority status for the best order offers in the...

Re: TSA PreCheck Experience

I discovered recently that TSA Precheck status extends fo everyone that you book tickets for at the same time. I have it, my boyfriend does not. But when I booked two tickets for us recently to fly...

Re: Gizza Job

Yes, I have commercial gig/ ride share type insurance (for goods, not passengers), which is about $15 more a month. I’m very risk averse and rule-abiding!

It’s also fun this time of year on the FB...

Re: Gizza Job

Sure, yet dozens of these gig companies for shopping, food delivery, scooter charging, etc etc, all seem to have done just that. It’s as if established legacy companies are stuck with the old,...

Re: Gizza Job

I’m closer to your second scenario. Financially I only need part-time work, but some weeks I choose to do full-time hours. Yes, the flexibility is a great benefit - I enjoy being able to take more...

Re: Gizza Job

It appears there are some decent gig jobs out there! I started a new one yesterday, doing deliveries for a company that aggregates produce from local farmers, then delivers to people’s homes once a...

Re: Charlotte- Mecklenburg: Securing a school place

It’s highly unusual - at least in the multiple areas/ states I’ve lived - for a child who is in boundary to not get a place at the neighborhood school. The danger is more for kids who don’t live in...

Re: Administration To Crack Down On Visa For Pregnant Women

Realistically it is already happening. There are many accounts from people in Europe who were born in the US, returned to their home countries as babies or small children, and are now finding that...

Re: Administration To Crack Down On Visa For Pregnant Women

Or they could just re-amend the Amendment about birthright citizenship. That would solve the problem, and also solve the issues for the Accidental Americans like the sons of two of my UK friends, who...
