Thanks everyone for your comments.

We've been told the magic number is 700 cubic meters. Which means you can utilise groupage if you wish. There's not a great deal of difference between groupage...

We're taking two of our cats and the total cost, £1,600.00, not including vets fees. - Horrific but we feel it's worth it as they will help us to settle once we get there.

As for rehoming them...

I've also managed to find a fantastic new home for two of our cats who aren't well enough to make the trip. Everything seems to be falling into place....

We have been very lucky. Put the house on the market just before Christmas - had two viewers and two offers. BUT we are unusual. We had to market at a "reasonable" price and spent a few weeks...

He's a Construction Site Manager, so we will need to live within commuting distance of a city. Not sure I fancy Auckland as we currently live close to London but Wellington or Christchurch both...

I found the programme inspirational - yes I live a fairly dull life! I couldn't wait to start gardening in NZ with Roses etc. but after watching the programme - i'm going native when I arrive!
