Re: social media question on ds160 form

I would include all forums that you have used in the time span. They are going to know anyway if you use the same user name on other forums.

Re: Nightmare!

She should have quarantined elsewhere for 14 days. She is not affected by the second ban as her visa was issued prior to April 22 (I assume, since it expires within a week - unless she did the...

Re: transportation of guinea pigs to usa

The UK doesn't allow animals in the cabin unless they are assistance animals (not emotional support animals) trained to assist a blind or physically disabled person. A guinea pig is unlikely to...

Re: Travel to US for Permanent Residents Parent

No harm in trying. Please keep us updated on the outcome. I am also an LPR wanting a family member to be able to travel for humanitarian reasons so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Re: Esta revoked after check in.

I didn't express myself well...I meant the qualifying factor (being a minor child of a USC) is poles apart from Kooky's circumstances. It was based on the 'nobody' that I was trying (badly) to say...

Re: Travel to US for Permanent Residents Parent

I don't see anything in that link that says your mother can come for a personal, family visit. It mentions business needs, academics, students and certain visa classes. Nothing about B-2 or VWP...

Re: Travel to US for Permanent Residents Parent

An ESTA would likely be approved because it's valid for 2 years. Assuming nothing has changed to be make her inadmissible based on health/character then there's no reason why it wouldn't be approved....

Re: Esta revoked after check in.

Nobody? The order is quite clear that minor children of USCs are exempt and are absolutely allowed to travel. You are not even a resident, let alone a USC, so your situation is completely different...

Re: Esta revoked after check in.

The embassy in Switzerland posted an announcement on their website that VWP travelers who fall into the exemption categories (spouses of USCs, minor children of USCs, etc) should apply for a B-2 to...

Re: VWP visit for medical reasons

Thank you for your help and ideas. My N-400 application has been sitting with USCIS since autumn of last year so hopefully I will be a USC soon. That might change things. When I had my most recent...

Re: VWP visit for medical reasons

Thank you for your reply.

The dilemma is that I’m not unable to travel in terms of legality. I have a British passport and a green card so I can travel to the UK and return to the United States....

Re: At the beginning ...

Exactly! So people think they will be making a UK salary, with UK benefits but with lower outgoings. When in reality it's a UK salary with no UK-style benefits (NHS, etc) and much higher outgoings. ...

Re: At the beginning ...

Which is where people get the idea that living here is so cheap. Just had a Google and in the UK the starting salary is GBP25,500 or so for a paramedic. So $32,000 here seems reasonable to people,...

Re: At the beginning ...

Does your wife work for a company with offices in the US? That sounds like it could be your only option (but not until at least next year).

Re: Green card/citizenship and relocation

All USCIS offices are showing 'up to 36 months' on the processing timelines page for N-400. Even those that were (pre-COVID) getting through the whole shebang in less than 4 months. Some offices take...
