Re: Visa on arrival

Can you rent a condo easily despite of being on a tourist Visa? Is it quite hard to get around without a car in Malaysia? How do you manage that on a tourist visa?

Re: KL or Singapore ?

Isn't it very bad living in a place like Singapore when you're self-employed? Do you pay yourself an expat package?

Re: I do not think living in Oz is much more better by all standards than living in U

NZ is very high but people on here seem to think of it as a backwater mainly for rugby players. ...

Re: Anti-Australian

I've been to lots of different expat sites for different countries. There's always a sizable contingent who hate the country and can't seem to wait to move back home. Nothing unusual here. Some...

Re: Desperate in Perth

Actually not a windup. I really do want to move there. It sounds like Oz is the perfect place and the strict immigration requirements are great. Unlike North America and Europe, they don't allow...

Re: Quality of life in Thailand on 80,000.00 Baht a year

Are these enthusiastic local girls mostly bar girl types, regular girls, or more educated women? What is the attitude among upperclass Thais wrt to interracial marriages?

Re: Desperate in Perth

But during those several years studying I could surely find someone to give me a part time job teaching, working in a lab or something, right?

How many years do they allow you to stay on as a...

Re: I do not think living in Oz is much more better by all standards than living in U

Really? Dallas is horribly inconvenient. The airport is ridiculous. You have to go outside of the airport and wait for a bus if you have a connecting flight. The city is sprawling and the highways...

Re: Quality of life in Thailand on 80,000.00 Baht a year

How's the expat community there? Is it a nice place for a single, western woman? I assume the best city would be Bangkok. Any other decent cities?

BB, where do you live btw. You seem very...
