thanks for reply. nah dont think it's timing difference. i refreshed the trading rate several times and still got 1.82** something. then i cancelled my trade and checked back their real-time rates...

i was in the middle of setting up a transfer using XEtrade BUT i noticed the rate on the final confirmation page is DIFFERENT!!! (1.820 only GBP->USD) from the rate (1.845) shown on XE's homepage...

thanks tony it's true direct debits or even paying people within UK can be done with internet banking..

but sending money overseas'd definitely requires tighter identification check...if i am...

i am gettin a clearer image: simple..for small amout(<500) i'd go for paypal, big amout definitely bank wire or money broker(dont really trust them though) :rolleyes:
