Similar to my experience. I had a passport that was expiring soon and didn't renew it. They didn't ask me to hand it over except to just take a look at it. No issues getting the clearance one year...

Rules changed - it's now 10% of AGI to be able to deduct on tax return (unless you're over 65 in which case you can claim 7.5% until Dec. 31 2016 - after that same rule).

I'd get the SSN updated to remove the restriction from it, and then use SSN and DL for employment verification purposes. I never showed my GC as proof of employment.

My lease says $127 per night so less than federal per diem rate for lodging. Chicago area at $128 December through February.

Did you follow the instructions in the "you're a winner" letter and checked out DV info on travel.state.gov? Clearly says you have to fill out the forms and send them to KCC before they'll schedule...
