Like so many things here the changes are largely cosmetic with a few insignificant tweaks around exit permits and NOC's. Im just glad im on a multi exit visa so has little effect on me.

A number of my friends live there and like it, the pool area and other facilities are good although some of the apartments can be dated as its one of the "older" buildings in west bay

Cheers mate, after nearly 2 years here i see what you mean. i worked out i need to get out every 8-12 weeks to avoid going mental. even a weekend in bahrain or dubai helps to blow off steam

:rofl: Lol almost correct, i did start my career in investment banking in the uk, moved to Doha with a British engineering consultancy in 2014. now iv made the leap to a local outfit.

Yup it is a tough place to live and work in all the old hand expats i know say KSA and Qatar are the hardest of the GCC states to live in

Yup good point, as part of our de-mobilization process we use an employee support service to help people readjust to life back home.
Personally i find that emotions seem amplified here the highs...
