If you choose the Sarina option, the place to live would be either Mackay or one of the southern beaches. Sarina itself stinks, due to the ethanol plant in town.:)

Thats correct. It will probably need an application for change of use under the IPA, rather than simply asking for and receiving permission. This may have implications if the property is later sold.

The news speaks of flooding on the east coast and a possible storm surge. The surf report is for a 13.5 foot swell at my local beach, so I'm sorted. Better surf than the east coast of Aus, shame...

Cheers for that. I remember the outcry of locals in the early 2000s, due to plans to build a food irradiation plant in Potassium Way on the estate. Cobalt 60 process or something. A quick Google...
