Re: Benefit Entitlement

I'm moving back to the UK after 15 years away in the US, and my US wife will be arriving on a Family Visa. We have some savings, and we're using that as our proof of financial self-support for her...

Timeframe after visa application process is done

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, a search did not dig up an answer. I'd like to know how much time one has to play with between the day one's family visa approval/biometrics/etc. is all done,...

Re: Using cash savings as proof of income

Right, I probably mixed terms there. My intention is to explore potential problems proving to the UK Gov that we can support ourselves in the UK, when neither of us has a job (in our case, retired)....

Using cash savings as proof of income

Is anyone / has anyone used cash savings only as their proof of income? If so, were your savings in the UK or overseas?

As recent retirees, this will likely be our approach. I'm hoping to get a...

Some unanswered questions after initial research

Context: I am a British citizen by birth, my wife is American. We have been living in the US for the past 15 years, in fact since we were married, and I have dual citizenship now. For family reasons...

Re: I have almost 4 thousand pound to transfer

Thanks ... but not quite what I was asking. I was asking about expectation vs. outcome. In other words, sure, I'm being told "this is the rate" and "this the fee" and "this is how much you'll...

Re: I have almost 4 thousand pound to transfer

I came here to open a thread but looks like this one is current and along the same lines.

I was wondering what the *real* fee was that people ended up paying when transferring large/larger sums...

Re: UK investing while still resident in the US

How about when I liquidate those ADRs though - will the money be reverted to USD in my US account? Or are you saying ADR sales can be kept in GBP and placed in a UK account?

I'm wondering if I'd...

UK investing while still resident in the US

I'm new to this forum so apologies if this is an old question and I just missed the outcome in my forum search.

Post-Brexit, I'm thinking of taking advantage of the weak pound and transferring...
